Huey Hesson Stettes always delivers, and this is no exception. A really wonderful tribute to the Thin White Duke. Keep em coming, man. Love hearing your stuff. Favorite track: Memory of a Free Festival.

Maybe I should announce it? Should I? In memory of a free festival The children of the summer's end gathered in the dampened grass We played our songs and felt the London sky Resting on our hands -- it was God's land It was ragged and naive -- it was Heaven Touch, we touched the very soul Of holding each and every life We claimed the very source of joy ran through It didn't, but it seemed that way I kissed a lot of people that day Oh, to capture just one drop of all the ecstasy That swept that afternoon To paint that love upon a white balloon And fly it from the toppest top of all the tops that man has pushed Beyond his brain Satori must be something just the same We scanned the skies with rainbow eyes and saw machines Of every shape and size We talked with tall Venusians passing through And Peter tried to climb aboard but the Captain shook his head And away they soared, Climbing through the ivory vibrant cloud Someone passed some bliss among the crowd And we walked back to the road, unchained The sun machine is coming down and we're gonna have a party

Lazarus 06:13
Look up here, I'm in heaven I've got scars that can't be seen I've got drama, can't be stolen Everybody knows me now Look up here, man, I'm in danger I've got nothing left to lose I'm so high it makes my brain whirl Dropped my cell phone down below Ain't that just like me? By the time I got to New York I was living like a king There I'd used up all my money I was looking for your ass This way or no way You know, I'll be free Just like that bluebird Now, ain't that just like me? Oh, I'll be free Just like that bluebird Oh, I'll be free Ain't that just like me?

about

I intended to put this out on January 10 in honor of the 5 year anniversary of David Bowie's passing, but I didn't have them done in time.

David Bowie's influence on me came late in life but it's been no less significant. This single combines a song off the same album that "Space Oddity" was on in '69, and a B-side of a track from his final album, released just days before his death.

I learned a lot making this and also realized how much more there is to learn, which I guess is the whole point of anything.

I hope you enjoy it.
